BAFTA Finds A New Home at The London

We are excited to announce a new partnership with the British Academy of Film and Television Arts Los Angeles (BAFTA Los Angeles) to provide its members with a home on this “side of the pond”. The partnership will kick-off this September with a private BAFTA Clubhouse event at The London for new and renewing members, and the organization’s annual TV Tea Party on September 17 to celebrate achievements in Television. Along with serving as a formal location for signature events, BAFTA LA and The London will also curate special custom Clubhouse programming for members throughout the year including exclusive industry breakfasts, after-work gatherings and screenings.

Along with offering exclusive member benefits and events, The London will become a living gallery for iconic BAFTA photographic artwork and décor. Hotel guests and visitors will enjoy unique photographic images from the BAFTA photographic archives displayed in The London’s Screening Room Lobby. BAFTA inspired decor will be sprinkled throughout Boxwood’s cozy Sitting Room.  Boxwood also plans to feature a signature BAFTA-named cocktail on their menu.

“The London West Hollywood at Beverly Hills has always been a wonderful tale of two cities, London and Los Angeles. BAFTA LA shares a similar storyline making a partnership with this prestigious arts organization seamless and ideal,” said General Manager, Jeff Kulek.  “We look forward to welcoming and hosting local and visiting BAFTA members at their new home here at The London.”

The British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) supports, develops and promotes the art forms of the moving image by identifying and rewarding excellence, inspiring practitioners and benefiting the public. In addition to its awards ceremonies, BAFTA has a year-round, international programme of learning events and initiatives that offers unique access to some of the world’s most inspiring talent through workshops, masterclasses, scholarships, lectures and mentoring schemes, connecting with audiences of all ages and backgrounds across the UK, Los Angeles and New York.

Founded in 1987, BAFTA Los Angeles serves as a bridge between the Hollywood and British production and entertainment business communities. Its commitment to professional and community education is at the heart of all activity, including an award-winning community outreach programme, screenings, seminars, Behind Closed Doors series, Q&As, scholarships for British students studying in the US, a Newcomers Program for emerging British talents working in the US, and a Heritage Archive project that preserves in-depth interviews with the industry’s leading talents for future generations. BAFTA Los Angeles celebrates and promotes excellence through its annual Britannia Awards, Awards Season Film and Television Tea Parties and the Student Film Awards.

  1. What a wonderful hotel to have as a new home for BAFTA members. I look forward to the TV Tea at the Boxwood and enjoying the Boxwood sitting room in the future.
