Concierge Corner: Must-Do Summer Activities in LA

Since summer is in full swing, and our weather is deliciously perfect, I wanted to cover all the great things that you can do outside. So put on some sunscreen and get on out there!

SCHOOL’S OUT! WHAT ARE SOME GREAT THINGS TO DO OUTDOORS WITH THE KIDS?

You’re in Los Angeles… and it’s summer! Step away from the tube and big screen (if just for an afternoon), and try out one of these family-friendly activities. You’ll create memories, for both you and the kids. Sans kiddos? Age ain’t nothing but a number. These are still fun ideas to do on a date or with a group of friends!

LEARN TO SURF LA

In less than two hours, you and your kids can actually learn to catch a wave! With several beach locations and options for group or private lessons, they provide the board and wetsuit while you learn to surf or stand up paddle board. Without a doubt, this is the classic Southern California summer experience. Warning: Surfing can be highly addicting!

SUNSET RANCH HOLLYWOOD

Hiking up to the Hollywood sign is fun—but it’s double the fun on horseback! They offer day and evening rides, suitable for ages 8 and up. Book a BBQ Tour to end your ride with food, music, and festivities, or their Evening Tour to bask in the stunning sunset. Interested in more than a tour, they also teach horseback riding lessons.

Located on the Santa Monica Pier, you can learn to fly and swing while overlooking the ocean! Their open-air facility offers classes in static and flying trapeze, along with silks and trampoline. Regardless of your fitness level, they welcome everyone ages 6 and up. No need to run away with the circus when you can experience the circus!
