Top Places to Celebrate the 4th of July in L.A.

Los Angeles is all about celebrations, and the Fourth of July is one of the most popular. Offering so much more than just magical lights in the sky, there are endless options throughout the LA area to enjoy daytime events including parades, concerts, carnivals, sky diving, family-friendly festivals and other activities. Of course, you’ll also have prime opportunities for viewing the fireworks – on multiple nights if you’re up to the challenge. For the ultimate 4th of July experience, start planning your getaway to LA today!

Pacific Palisades

For 68 years, the Pacific Palisades has come alive each 4th of July with an exciting parade, starting out immediately after an incredible skydiving show at 1:40 p.m. You’ll want to stick around, however, because food vendors begin selling a variety of gourmet foods starting at 4:00, and gates open at 5:00 for Palisades Rocks the Fourth, an incredible live concert and fireworks event featuring the best local amateur and professional musicians playing patriotic and popular American music.

Hollywood Bowl

Celebrate the 4th with music from Pentatonix, a 3-time Grammy Award-winning a cappella group. With hits including covers of “Hallelujah,” “Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy” and “Daft Punk,” there’ll be something for everyone will enjoy. You’ll also hear patriotic music from The Hollywood Bowl Orchestra and end with thrilling fireworks for a night full of fun. Best of all, the show runs for three nights, so you can also get in on the excitement on the 2nd or 3rd as you wind up for the 4th. If you want to skip the music and cost, you can also get a great view of the fireworks from the Hollywood Bowl Overlook – but be sure to get there early!

Marina del Rey

If you’re hoping to watch the fireworks burst over the ocean, then Marina del Ray may just be the perfect spot. Considered to feature some of the best 4th of July fireworks in LA, you can also come early to enjoy a waterfront dinner or family picnic. For the best fireworks viewing, find a spot at Fisherman’s Village, Burton Chace Park or Marina/Mother’s Beach. If you want to make sure you have front-row fireworks views, consider booking one of the popular observation cruises. Fireworks start promptly at 9:00 p.m.

Grand Park

For an all-afternoon extravaganza, consider the 4th of July Block Party at Grand Park. Running from 2:00 p.m. through 9:30 p.m., this festival covers the entire park with a full array of family-friendly activities. The party features art-making and games for all ages, including tag, soccer, bubble-blowing and chalk art. There are two musical stages offering both live music and DJs, all highlighting America’s best music, from 70’s Funk and Soul to a full-scale Pops orchestra. You’ll also find plenty of options for food with more than 30 vendors including a number of gourmet food trucks. Fireworks begin promptly at 8:30 p.m.

Studio City

Studio City hosts a 4th of July spectacular at the sprawling CBS Studio Center each year. Enjoy a variety of events including live music, a car show, a business expo and a wide range of kid-friendly activities. Unlike many events, you can either bring your own food or choose to purchase it there. Optional Kids Fun Zone wristbands and VIP tickets for food and alcohol tastings as well as special roof access are all available. The night ends, of course, in a stunning fireworks show.

Exposition Park

This free annual 4th of July Community Festival and Fireworks Show at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum is an all-day event beginning at noon and encompassing a variety of live concerts, tons of food and beverage trucks, carnival rides and amusements, interactive exhibits, games and a full forty-five minute fireworks display, all spread out over the Exposition Park Grounds.

Rose Bowl Stadium

From 2:00 p.m. until 9:30 p.m., Pasadena’s famous Rose Bowl Stadium plays host each year to its annual AmericaFest 4th of July celebration. You can count on a world-class fireworks show and an exciting entertainment lineup to make the most of this great American holiday in Los Angeles.

No matter what your plans for 4th of July include, if you’re going to be visiting Los Angeles, the London West Hollywood is the perfect place to stay. Its central location makes it easy to get to multiple events in one day – or even try for more than one fireworks show over a few nights. Book your reservations for your next LA trip today!
